Readings in Arabic Literature

Prerequisite: ARAB305; or permission of ARHU-School of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures department. Restriction: Must not be a fluent/native speaker of Arabic. A survey of Modern Arabic literature is given through a range of selected texts. Texts are studied as literature with constant reference to the social, cultural and political contexts in which they were written. Taught in Arabic.
