Explorations in Arts and Humanities; Border Crossings: Immigration and the Making of the Americas

first semester freshmen in the College of Arts and Humanities. Human migration and immigration have been transformative forces across history and they remain so today. Focusing on the United States, the Caribbean, and Latin America, this course will examine how the arts and humanities, particularly history, theatre, and languages and literatures, have explored migration and immigration. The course will provide the tools for students to generate their own ideas and understandings of this very human activity, movement across borders.
