Advanced Special Topics in Art; Digital Media, Performance and Interactivity

Studio-based course focusing on the theory, practice and creation of physically interactive immersive media experiences. Course explores the integration of technology and artistic performance, including methods and processes for computationally engaged audio/visual performances that enable artists to interact with responsive elements of the environment through smart textiles, visual body-tracking and gestural sensors, audio sampling and analysis, and other interactive modalities that drive media architectures for performance venues such visual projection mapping, mechatronic devices, and algorithmic music.
