BIOE489I

Special Topics in Bioengineering; Optical Microscopy

Prereqs: BIOE120, BIOE121, BIOE241, MATH246. Co-requisite: BIOE371. Optical Microscopy includes a large variety of techniques central in many fields of biological and engineering research as well as clinical medicine. This course will provide a comprehensive overview of the fundamentals of optical microscopy. At a fundamental level, we will understand the interaction of light with tissue, cells and biomaterials and we willlearn the mathematical foundations to describe optical systems.
