Special Problems in Biological Sciences; Sustainability of Socio-Environmental Systems

Cross-listed with ENTM699G. The seminar will begin with a focus on socio-environmental system dynamics, what they have in common with other complex adaptive systems and how solving environmental problems requires an integrated consideration of both the social and ecological dimensions. We will explore theories, concepts, and methods that different disciplines bring to this topic and learn about qualitative and quantitative approaches to grapple with problems of sustainability.
