Undergraduate Advanced Selected Topics in Biology; Infectious Diseases: Host-Pathogen Interactions and Global Impacts

(Sponsoring Dept.: BIOL). Acceptable toward Biological Sciences Specialization Areas: GENB (Cell Biology, Development, Physiology) and PHNB. Comprehensive overview of the fundamental principles of host-pathogen interactions in the context of infectious diseases and their impact at the community level and worldwide. Emphasis will be placed on public health and health disparities observed through infectious diseases. Investigation of major groups of pathogens, including bacteria, viruses, and parasites, and the diseases they cause with a focus on molecular and cellular mechanisms.
