Insects, Pathogens, and Public Health
Prerequisite: BSCI207. Mosquito- and tick-borne disease transmission poses significant challenges to human health and well-being globally, and is on the rise in North America. Arthropod parasites and the pathogens they transmit to humans and animals will be introduced, and the public health significance of these arthropods will be examined. The ecology and behavior of vectors in relation to disease transmission will be emphasized. (Sponsoring Dept.: ENTM).
