Special Problems in Counseling and Personnel Services: Education and Counseling Issues for Asian Americans
Restricted to Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors. Graduate students may enroll with permission of instructor. Asian Americans are often seen as an invisible group, but their experiences have significant implications for the racial politics of education. Issues related to K-12 and higher education for Asian Americans, including disparities between ethnic subgroups, the model minority myth, mental health, affirmative action, and campus life will be covered.
