EDSP311

Peer Mentor Training and Certification

This course program offers a variety of opportunities and training to facilitate learning by providing students with ID/DD as a peer in the natural environment. Students will be able to develop understanding of disabilities and other conditions that could affect learning and other activities and learn ways to assist and build friendship through a mentor-mentee relationship. As part of the course, students will work on course assignments (discussions, reflections, and case analysis) and field work where they will directly work with diverse populations in the Terps-EXCEED program.
