Selection and Utilization of Construction Equipment

Prerequisite: Permission of ENGR-Civil & Environmental Engineering department. Restriction: Must be in a major in ENGR-A. James Clark School of Engineering; or must be in the Construction Project Management minor. Learn to evaluate and select construction equipment with a focus on mechanized equipment for earthwork and building construction.Learn about the parties involved in procurement, operation and maintenance, and how to cost-effectively plan, select, and utilize equipment for earthmoving, paving, formwork, trenching, rock excavation, tunneling, site preparation, and steel and concrete construction. Explore trends in equipment design, construction automation, and robotics.
