Formerly: ENCE661. Basic principles and fundamental concepts of the finite element method. Consideration of geometric and material nonlinearities, convergence, mesh gradation and computational procedures in analysis. Applications to plane stress and plane strain, plates and shells, eigenvalue problems, axisymmetric stress analysis, and other problems in civil engineering.
