Remote Sensing: Digital Processing and Analysis

Prerequisite: GEOG272 and GEOG306; or students who have taken courses with comparable content may contact the department. Digital image processing and analysis applied to satellite and aircraft land remote sensing data. Consideration is given to image preprocessing techniques including radiometric calibration, geometric registration as well as atmospheric correction. Analysis methods include digital image exploration, feature extraction, thematic classification, change detection, and biophysical characterization. An application-oriented course project will be completed through the self-guided computer labs. Students must pay a $40.00 lab materials fee.
