Prerequisite: HIST201, HIST211, HIST213, HIST222, HIST255, or HIST275; or must have completed HIST157; or permission of instructor. The emergence of modern institutions and identities, 1900-1945. These institutions may include corporate enterprises and the welfare state; identities include homosexuality, the New Woman, and the New Negro.
