Population Aging and Society

This course introduces students to the study of aging and its implications for individuals, families, and society, providing a foundation for understanding population health and equity issues affecting aging and older adults. Using a multidisciplinary lens, including demography, biology, epidemiology, and health services research, students will develop a deeper understanding of the social, biological, and structural factors that shape aging. The course also provides insight into potential career paths in aging-related fields equipping students with knowledge to pursue advanced research or professional opportunities focused on aging and older adults. By the end of the course, students will be prepared to critically evaluate and interpret key issues and evidence related to aging populations from a multidisciplinary perspective.
