Directed Studies in Linguistics; Biology of Language
Are the ways that humans reflect, express themselves and communicate unique to humans--or do other animals have language too? This class will involve examination of the notion human language using insights from scientific studies of both humans and animals. It will incorporate ideas from linguistics, psychology, neuroscience, genetics, molecular biology, and animal behavior.
