PHIL418E
Topics in Epistemology/Metaphysics; Causes and Conditionals
An examination of a perennial topic in metaphysics: the nature of causation. We will pay special attention to analyses of causation in terms of counterfactual statements such as "if the key had been turned the engine would have started" and "if the stone had not been thrown, the glass would not have shattered."
