Real Estate Development Literature and Critical Analysis

There is a body of literature surrounding real estate development and the built environment, including the economics, politics, social and environmental factors, financial structures, and urban, landscape and building design. This elective course is designed to introduce student completing the real estate development minor to the body of literature, from the biography of James Rouse to the economic issues raised in the Mystery of Capital, from the History of the development of Rockefeller Center to a more recent addition on the development of Shanghai, Dubai, Mumbai and St. Petersburg. Students will read, digest, critique, compare and contrast these texts and other important literary works that impact or directly address the development of the built environment
