Prerequisite: 6 credits in SOCY courses; or permission of BSOS-Sociology department. Restriction: Junior standing or higher. The sociological study of social class, status, and power. Topics include theories of stratification, correlates of social position, functions and dysfunctions of social inequality, status inconsistency, and social mobility.
