Methods of Secondary Data Analysis
This is a practicum-oriented course designed to provide students with exposure to several of the major publicly available secondary data sources widely used in sociology, and practical experience in locating, evaluating, managing and analyzing secondary data. Students will manipulate large datasets, consider how to formulate hypotheses and build research designs around existing data sources and critically evaluate the utility of different secondary datasets.
