Introduction to Statistical Programming Using Stata

This course provides an overview of the data management skills needed for reproducible research and open science using the statistical application Stata. Students will learn about, data tidying and wrangling, archiving, iteration and functions, and reproducible workflows. The course has the general objective of teaching the basics of data management and statistical programming. This includes preparing data for analysis and conducting the kinds of analyses covered in typical statistics courses. Both the structure and the philosophy of programming generally and the specifics of Stata are covered using real data to illustrate different programming techniques and strategies. The course is suitable for students new to the subject, as well as for those looking to refresh their skills.
