Selected Topics in Communication; Communication, Culture, and Sport

This course examines the interplay between sport(s) and political culture from the perspective of communication. Students will explore the connections between sport and social practices and the implications connections have on individual, organizational, regional, and national identities. Students will apply theories of interpersonal, intergroup, mediated, and rhetorical communication to various historical and contemporary case studies to illustrate these connections.
