Labor Markets

Prerequisite: 1 course with a minimum grade of C- from (ECON306, ECON326); and 1 course with a minimum grade of C- from (ECON424, ECON422). Restriction: Must be in one of the following programs (Economics Bachelor of Arts; Economics Bachelor of Science). Credit only granted for: ECON470 or ECON471. Economic analysis of labor based on modern theory and empirical analysis. Focus on public policy, studying the interactions between labor demand and labor supply in the labor market and how policies impact those interactions. Possible policies include welfare policy, minimum wage policy, immigration policy, and anti-discrimination policies. Uses statistical software to summarize and create visualizations of economic data. Restriction: For ECON-BA (22040) majors only.
