Inclusive Instruction: Reading Methods II

Prerequisite: EDHD314 and EDHD425; and (EDHD419 or EDSP420). Corequisite: EDSP423 and EDHD431; and track 1: Must be concurrently enrolled in EDSP430 and EDSP433; OR Track 2: Must be concurrently enrolled in EDHD415 and EDHD424. Focus on current research and methods of teaching reading in the primary grades. Examination of development of a balanced literacy program of children of all reading levels in inclusive early childhood classrooms. Students will learn to select and use a variety of evidence-based reading strategies and assessment tools for reading and writing instruction. Includes field experiences.
