Solid State Electronics

Prerequisite: ENEE413; and must have background in elementary quantum mechanics. Credit only granted for: ENEE600 or ENEE793. Formerly: ENEE793. Properties of crystals; energy bands: electron transport theory; conductivity and hall effect; statistical distributions; fermi level: impurities; non-equilibrium carrier distributions; normal modes of lattice vibration and thermal properties of crystals; tunneling phenomena; surface properties.
