Renewable Energy

Prerequisite: ENME331. Restriction: Must be in a major within the ENGR-Mechanical Engineering department. Credit only granted for: ENME489K or ENME436. Formerly: ENME489K. Fundamentals, design/analysis tools, and state of the art renewable energy technologies. Energy resources and global perspectives of current and future energy demand/consumption trends, followed by prime renewable energy technologies, including wind, solar, hydro, geothermal, and ocean thermal energy conversion. Economics of renewable energy, energy conservation opportunities, CO2 capture and storage, and thermal energy storage.
