Mechatronics and the Internet of Things

Prerequisite: ENME351. Restriction: Permission of ENGR-Mechanical Engineering department. Credit only granted for: ENME489B or ENME441. Formerly: ENME489B. Mechatronics integrates dynamical systems, transducers, computation, control and design. Students will gain experience with digital circuit development, mechatronics design and participate in labs and projects culminating in the development of a mobile robotic platform. Course aims to reveal the dynamic nature of mechanical components where the domains of mechanics, electronics and software converge. Project driven, hands-on course in which student will learn about the Raspberry Pi platform, wireless communication using Pi and Python code development among other skills.
