Prerequisite: Knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer; and permission of Maryland Applied Graduate Engineering. Credit only granted for: ENPM624 or ENME701. Thermodynamics and heat transfer of renewable energy sources for heating, power generation and transportation. Wind energy, solar thermal, photovoltaic, biomass, waste burning, and hydropower. Broad overview of the growing use of renewable energy sources in the world economy with detailed analysis of specific applications.
