GEOL789O
Recent Advances in Geology; Chemical Geodynamics
Students will examine a series of outstanding problems in Solid Earth and Planetary Sciences that remain under-constrained. We will quantitatively model chemical and physical data that defines, to the best of understanding, the nature of the core, mantle and crust of the Earth and their equivalents for the Moon and the rocky planets. Proper treatment of uncertainties will be emphasized.
