Recent Advances in Geology; Remote Sensing in Geoscience

In this course we discuss basic principles underlying different remote sensing techniques, and how they are applied to geology related applications. This class will introduce satellite data including from Landsat, Envisat, Sentine-1, Sentinel-2, Icesat, SRTM, SMAP, and GRACE. We will also introduce geographic information systems (GIS) in this class and software such as QGIS and Google Earth Engine to present and analyze different remote sensing dataset.
