Special Topics - M.A. Level; Gender and Sexuality in German Literature and Society

Analyzes gender and sexuality as key discourses for understanding German-speaking literatures, cultures, and societies. In this course, we will examine desire and sexuality as cultural constructs in order to critically analyze the ways in which they are mobilized as forms of power in the service of competing political, social, and cultural agendas from the 18th to the early 20th centuries. Taught in German.
