Sport for Development

Prerequisite: Must have earned a minimum grade of C- in KNES287. Recommended: KNES485. Restriction: Must be a major within the SPHL-Kinesiology department and must have earned a minimum of 75 credits. Credit only granted for: KNES389D or KNES346. Formerly: KNES389D. Examines how sport-based programs and organizations are used by governments, multinational corporations, and non-government organizations (NGO's) to reach personal, community, national and international development objectives; focuses on theorizing the histories of international development and contemporary global issues; contextualizes the interrelationship of theory, institutions, and practices of domestic and international sport for development and peace programing.
