Hispanic Linguistics I: Phonetics and Phonology

Prerequisite: SPAN303; and (SPAN311 or SPAN316). Credit only granted for: SPAN310 or SPAN325. Formerly: SPAN310. Descriptive study of the Spanish sound system. Practice in phonetic perception, transcription, and articulation. Particular attention to sentence phonetics; juncture, rhythm, stress, pitch. Taught in Spanish.
