Special Topics in Latin American Civilization; The Spanish-American Short Story
After a brief incursion into select stories from the nineteenth-century, the course will focus on major twentieth-century writers (Borges, Cortazar, Carpentier, Rulfo and Garcia Marquez, among others) and explore trends that define younger authors from across the region. Course requirements include oral presentations, a midterm and final exam, and a paper.
