Special Topics in Advanced Theatre and Performance; Technologies of Japanese Performance

We will focus on concepts of likeness and liveness as they manifest in performances of mythical origins, the traditions of noh drama, the popular, commercial theatres of kabuki and bunraku, and contemporary experiments with robotics, Vocaloids, and other new technology.
