| Paul Albertus CHBE473 Expecting a B admin 12/05/2024 | Professor Albertus is one of those great professors that you are lucky to find in your student career. This guy is actively trying to get better at teaching, be a good communicator, and come up with ways to explain this course's difficult concepts. On the first day he said "The feedback I got last year was to do more in class examples and make the class more interactive" and sure enough he did! He did lots of relevant examples to the homework and exam questions, and he sure did ask us lots of questions! He also had office hours before and after class in the classroom (which lets be honest is literally the most convenient time for office hours) and was happy to explain anything. He is young and energetic and also extremely professional. Professor Albertus is also solidly embedded in the battery research community. He is hip to battery news, state of the battery industry, etc. He could lecture on new type of battery electrolyte and then pull out a paper published in the last few years with some chart explaining some concept of what we are learning. The class itself felt organized. The lectures matched the homework which matched the exams. Only one exam question did I feel was completely out of left field. (And sure enough he admitted the following class that it was a bit of a stretch). The class followed a good textbook, which meant endless practice problems and detailed explanations of the material. Honestly, one of my favorite professors of this university. |
