Jason Aston Expecting an A Anonymous 05/14/2025	The goat. Probably the best professor in the Info School. Extremely knowledgeable in UX and design, has a very engaging teaching style, and is overall a cool guy. He is very approachable and wants you to succeed and grow as a designer. The class itself (INST454) was a semester-long group project where you could work individually or in groups. The project was broken into 5 Sprint deliverables with a final deliverable and presentation. The presentation was easy and chill, and was more of an opportunity to receive feedback before the final deliverable submission. He even brought snacks and drinks for everyone during presentations, what a guy. Jason is moving, so he won't be teaching at UMD for a while, but if he comes back, definitely take him in whatever course he's teaching.
Jason Aston Expecting an A admin 05/07/2025	This was a new class, but it was a great opportunity to create and flesh out a project that can go in your portfolio. Jason is honestly a great professor, he's so so nice and caring, literally if you need or want anything all you have to do is ask and he will help in any way he can. He's extremely lenient, and he essentially walks you through your specific project. The class is a semester-long project; if you slack off, you will feel it, so don't do that. Even though I slacked off and missed multiple milestone assignments, I turned them in super late and still got full marks—honestly, my favorite class of the semester.

Jason Aston INST406 Expecting an A admin 04/28/2023	The best professor I've had in my entire schooling career, he's surpassed CS professor Nelson and that's the highest regard I can ever give to a professor. If you can pass on knowledge to your students while keeping the class/environment stress-free you've basically figured it all out, he's incredible. I mean no one else has done this but CS professor Nelson. But professor Jason does it better, he's mastered the craft, incredible.
