| Aaron Bartlett ENGL393 admin 05/14/2025 | I'm not sure why some of the previous ratings are so low. I thought he did a pretty good job teaching ENGL393 this semester. The class wasn't hard at all and the assignments were not that bad. For the technical writing assignments, he lets you pick a topic of your choice which makes them more fun and easier to complete. He gives good feedback during the required conferences with him after the drafts of the assignments. Grading is a little slower but I thought he graded pretty fairly. Keep in mind he also likes when people participate during class, so if he asks a question and no one answers, he may randomly call on you. Overall, I'd recommend him for future ENGL393 classes. |
| Aaron Bartlett ENGL398A Expecting an A admin 03/25/2025 | Professor Bartlett was a super great professor that I learned a lot from. He is very knowledgeable about the subject, and I would recommend his professional writing classes, as it gave me a broader scope of what professional writing in the real world is like. That being said, it was not until about halfway through the semester that the class started to become interesting. I had his class at 8 am, and a lot of people (including myself) skipped. He is not an easy grader, but he is fair. He is direct with his comments, which is something to get used to, but he does take the time to give genuine feedback. That being said, he does grade things late. However, he gave us an extra credit opportunity at the end of the semester to make up for it. All in all, if he worked on making the classes more enjoyable, as well as grading things on time, I would give him five stars :) |
| Aaron Bartlett ENGL243 Expecting an A+ admin 05/05/2023 | The class is really easy as long as you show up and participate. Super low stress, the only thing that bothered me was that the professor would randomly take off points without explanation. You could do everything right as the assignment stated, but you're deducted points if you don't go above and beyond his expectations. Essentially, he compares your work to other students and even if you do the assignment correctly, if others went above his expectations, you're not getting a 100. |
| Aaron Bartlett ENGL265 Expecting an A admin 04/22/2023 | I took this class in Fall 2022, and I thought he did a great job with it. The readings and the material in general were very interesting, and the class was structured to be guided more by student discussion than by an instructor's lectures, which was a great way to approach this material. However, this means he does expect a lot of participation (it was part of our grade), so it was necessary to actually do the readings (which a lot of people didn't). The assignments required effort but weren't too hard, and I thought his grading was fair. I found this to be a fun and fairly low-stress course. |
| Aaron Bartlett ENGL265 Expecting a B- admin 12/15/2022 | Most aggressive grader I have ever had. He is pretentious and gives poor feedback. Not a fan |
| Aaron Bartlett ENGL265 Expecting a B admin 12/13/2022 | I don’t actually know what my grade is because it’s the end of the semester and he has only put like 3 grades in and one of them is participation. I can’t tell if he’s not grading on purpose or if he’s just very lazy. It seems like he’s grading so late so that if you have any questions about your grade at the end, it’s already too late. |
| Aaron Bartlett ENGL101 Anonymous 11/24/2020 This review was submitted while most classes were online during the COVID-19 pandemic. It may not be indicative of a regular semester. | Awful professor. Grades hard and is very rude in his comments. Not too much work but would have rather taken a professor that gave more work and graded easier. |
