| Wendy Bassett BMGT350 Anonymous 05/11/2021 This review was submitted while most classes were online during the COVID-19 pandemic. It may not be indicative of a regular semester. | Grades things in an untimely manner and is unprofessional. Way more work than it needed to be. I did not enjoy this class at all. |
| Wendy Bassett BMGT350M Expecting a B- Anonymous 05/04/2021 This review was submitted while most classes were online during the COVID-19 pandemic. It may not be indicative of a regular semester. | Professor Barnes was insanely slow at grading required group projects (Practicums) and we were expected to "know what to improve" when we are 8 practicums ahead. So we would get feedback on the old practicum 8-12 weeks after doing the assignment. As of writing this, this is during the 2nd to last week and I only have 3 Practicums graded and my group and I just finished our practicum 11 last night... Online tests go 1 question at a time, and since I have accommodations, I work horribly with this way of testing. It is very time inefficient to get stuck on a question and be forced to answer it and not be allowed to skip and go back to it. It is absolutely absurd how this was handled. Her little "rules" were completely absurd and I felt as if I was back in high school being treated as a child rather than the responsible adult I am. I got all of the math questions wrong on on of her tests simply calculating profit and such just because I didn't place commas in the 6-figure numbers... I am not stupid and this made me feel as if she was grading off a rubric rather than grading for what we have learned. Absolutely disgraceful that as a college student paying ~$40k/year that wants to study in the field of business, I felt as if I was learning nothing besides how to get around her "rules" just to get a good grade rather than actually absorbing the material. This was my experience from an online version of this class, so if she teaches this in-person, some of these absurd "rules" could change, but this experience goes to show her character as a tough-for-no-reason teacher. |
| Wendy Bassett BMGT350M Expecting an A Anonymous 03/29/2021 This review was submitted while most classes were online during the COVID-19 pandemic. It may not be indicative of a regular semester. | Beware!! She gives so much work and is really strict and not understanding when it comes to extending deadlines or accepting late work - told us she won't be doing that after spring break because "covid is basically over and we need to start holding ourselves accountable". Her midterm was hard, on a time crunch, and also made us go through each question one at a time (you couldn't skip a question and go back to it later) to "prepare us for the GMAT". Um this class is for non-business majors. Most of us are not taking the GMAT. And she didn't take any input from students. I'm working way harder for this class than my classes for my major. I regret taking it with Wendy as a professor. Avoid her if you can |
| Wendy Bassett BMGT350 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 05/20/2020 This review was submitted while most classes were online during the COVID-19 pandemic. It may not be indicative of a regular semester. | Mrs. Barnes is a good professor. Majority BMGT350 is just keeping up with terms, diagrams, and concepts in the textbook and MyLab. Its blended learning so theres a lot of HW but If you understand the quizzes online you will do good on exams. I got an A+ |
