| Matthew Bell ARCH428F Expecting a B+ admin 05/14/2025 | I have mixed feelings regarding the class. Matt. Bell is a great professor; he is funny, maybe a bit snarky, but he will always answer any question you have. However, the workload for this class is astronomical. It included 3 projects, 3 essays (2-5 pages), and 4 exams. In the words of my non-architecture major friends, "that one class is quite literally my entire semester's workload." I will admit the exams were fair in terms of topics, but they often felt poorly paced, which caused many students not to finish on time. It wasn't until the last 2 exams that he realized how bad we our grades were that he made the exams shorter. For undergraduates, be careful who your TA is because they may be a stricter grader than the professor himself. I personally can not imagine taking this class with studio. Overall it was an enjoyable class to learn in, but the workload was just wayyy too much. |
