Ebonie Cooper-Jean PLCY302 Expecting an A admin 05/15/2025	I was worried I would hate the class because of the reviews I kept seeing, but honestly, it was my favorite course I have taken this semester. I will firstly acknowledge that Prof. Cooper has come a long way and that the course is better. She is still late a few times (10 minutes at most). The topics we discussed were interesting, and the class discussions were engaging. No exams. Just a few papers, which were very easy and graded fairly. I will admit, I was lucky because our TA was REALLY on top of things, and she was able to wing it a couple of times whenever the Prof. was late. I will say this in regards to the belittling, what tends to happen is that she likes to poke some humor throughout the less intense lectures, but sometimes takes it too far when she teases a student for an unusual response. This did not happen often, but it did happen a couple of times. I think I also got lucky with the group I was with, since our class had a lot of people volunteering regularly.
Ebonie Cooper-Jean PLCY213 Expecting a B+ admin 12/28/2023	Late, unorganized, and didn’t learn anything in the class. Avoid if not in the minor.
Ebonie Cooper-Jean PLCY302 Expecting an A+ admin 12/22/2023	Although this class was about pluralism, she only talked about racism. At the beginning of the semester, she belittled students who didn’t have the same opinions as her. By the end, only 2-3 people were speaking, and they so happened to promote Cooper-Jean’s beliefs. She doesn’t respond to her emails—she relies on the TA. She expects you to read and watch hours' worth of content to prepare for class. I give her 2 stars because her lessons were engaging once you get past her “woe is me.”
Ebonie Cooper-Jean PLCY213 Expecting an A- admin 12/07/2023	Worst course I have taken at UMD post Zoom era. Cooper-Jean is consistently late, unprepared, and provides little to no guidelines on assignments. I honestly feel like she had 0 prepared material for this course other than the readings that are not even relevant or addressed in the course. This class was simply a mess from the first day to the last. Avoid this class if you can, there are plenty of classes that are easy A's that won't have you questioning why you are enrolled in this univeristy.
Ebonie Cooper-Jean PLCY213 Expecting an A admin 11/14/2023	she sucks do not take class with her her lectures are painful and she is always late and holds us over for PLCY213 which is a course about non-profits, she only talked about racism.
Ebonie Cooper-Jean PLCY213 Expecting an A+ admin 05/12/2023	She talks about her personal life throughout the whole lecture.
Ebonie Cooper-Jean Expecting a B- admin 04/04/2023	She never shows up on time (i'm talking 25 min late), she is disrespectful to students who try to participate and ask questions, and she acts as though she teaches this class to talk about her accomplishments and why she needs to be more respected.
Ebonie Cooper-Jean PLCY302 Expecting a C+ admin 02/01/2023	I showed up to everything, participated every class, and did super well on everything until the final. She bombed me because I didn't spend long enough on it.
