Stephanie Cooper ENGL262 Expecting an A admin 11/10/2025	Great class if you're at least mildly interested in the subject. Stephanie is super engaging and it's clear she has a passion for the topic. There are usually 1-2 async quizzes per week on the assigned readings, which are completely doable, and there are a few low-effort projects spread out during the semester. The midterm was a timed at-home quiz with around 40 questions, which was very fair. Workload was overall not bad at all, since you can just do the textbook portion which gives you a good overview of the Bible readings. Class is typical lecture style, with some small group discussions. Attendance is required and participation is a part of your grade. Definitely an interesting class, and I felt like I learned a lot from an academic viewpoint.

Attendance is mandatory due to the participation grade, and the class is partially online, with Wednesdays being virtual. Each week involves reading different passages, which can feel like busywork. As an elective, it may not feel worth the effort, but I would recommend it if you're looking for an easy A.

Stephanie Cooper JWST262 Expecting an A- admin 12/08/2024	Stephanie Cooper is extremely knowledgeable about the Hebrew Bible and shows a clear passion for what she teaches. She is sweet and wants to learn everyone's name to make it more personable. It meets once a week in person and once on Zoom (which is great). As long as you read the passages for that week and stay on top of the assignments, you will do well. There is a lot of out-of-class reading, though, which gets a bit annoying, and there are very dense textbooks that she expects to read each week. Overall, I found the class very interesting and enlightening as it shows a very different, secular view of the Bible. Keep in mind, though, that because of this content, it will mess with your faith a little lol.
