Nasim DarouieHaghighi CMLT277 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 12/13/2024	Professor Darouie-Haghighi is the kind of professor that you're sure is a really nice person but isn't very good at her job. She's a bit awkward like other reviews say, but means no harm - she asked students the day of the election how they were feeling about the candidates, explaining how in her country she's used to dictatorships. It wasn't the most appropriate topic to start the day off with, but she really did mean well. She also bases the class on group discussions about the readings, which most students don't do - so it's just awkward convo with you and the people around you for 15 minutes. A lot of painful silence. Every single class. The assignments are not hard, but her rubrics are very inconsistent. She will clear them up if you ask but it is annoying. Most grading is pretty lenient and she will always email you back right away if you have questions about anything.
Nasim DarouieHaghighi CMLT277 Expecting an A- admin 12/11/2024	I do understand a lot of the comments and agree that she is a little awkward at times. However, she is a super easy grader and she at least attempts to make it endurable. The class I was in didn't really engage and I think that makes it hard. The issue is that there is a lot of material and it can be pretty boring. I'd recommend just reading summaries on it. Her jokes bomb often but her determination to have one land is quite frankly inspiring to see.
Nasim DarouieHaghighi ENGL101X Expecting an A admin 10/27/2024	I took this course over the summer with Professor.DarouieHaghighi and she was not the best teacher. There were often mistakes in her syllabus or assignment directions that I would constantly point out. Her grading is inconsistent. I received a low grade on a draft, even though it was a practice draft then had to email her to convince her to fix my grade to which she was very condescending. It is easy to do well you will need to stay on top of her, and do not be afraid to advocate for yourself.
Nasim DarouieHaghighi ENGL101 Expecting an A admin 06/13/2024	very very easy grader but horrible teacher. stopped going to class about halfway through the semester. asks weird and awkward questions. if you're competent in English and don't feel you need to learn the content, I recommend her just because of how easy the class is.
Nasim DarouieHaghighi ENGL101 Expecting an A+ admin 12/17/2023	These other comments made me laugh lol. The issue with this class was it was useless to even go, class was just a bunch of odd and unnecessary assignments and she was pretty awkward. I stopped going after September but I would send her my drafts for feedback, which was all I really needed. Either she's a super chill grader or maybe I am ok at english, but I got 100s on every single midterm paper. She responds quick over email too and would always answer my questions. My class personally had no participation assignments or attendance so it didn't matter if you went, she doesn't post lectures but I never needed it anyways. Ended the class with a 99%
Nasim DarouieHaghighi ENGL101A Expecting an A Anonymous 12/15/2023	She was a super easy grader and always gave A's for my assignments and papers. She only posted major assignment due dates on Canvas so you would have to look on the syllabus for when discussion boards were due which was annoying. Her classes were so boring and attendance wasn't taken so it wasn't necessary to go at all. She seemed like she never knew what she was doing and never really explained assignments. If you get her it wont be awful, but definitely don't choose to take her.
Nasim DarouieHaghighi ENGL101A Expecting a B+ admin 12/01/2023	easy grader, but strange teaching approach and often makes the class feel awkward by her lack of confidence and strange comments. i hope i never have to take a class taught by her again, and strongly advise against signing up for any class she teaches.
