There is a good deal of reading, but a lot of it is really interesting - i.e. ethnographies like The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down. The midterm was not bad at all, and the short essays the other reviewer talked about were critical reviews of the ethnography where you could just talk about what you liked and did not like about the ethnography. The final paper is a substantial amount of work but if you start early, it shouldn't be a problem. I took it in Spring 2014 and it was a very small class so there's a lot of interaction with classmates and the professor and a lot of discussion. |
