Ms. Gill is nice to the point of kind of treating you like a child. Which is great, but if someone's asking a dumb question, I feel bad that she has to pretend like it's brilliant. Her Saturday tour of the National Gallery was the highlight of the class. I didn't like that her exams were based on only a couple works, even though we studied a lot. It made it hard to study for the exams, because you were expected to memorize a lot about works that sometimes were pretty unmemorable.

There aren't enough good words to describe her and the class. She's very knowledgeable in the subject and is very encouraging of learning. You could say something silly in class and she will never make you feel like an idiot. I really learned a lot from her - it was one of the best classes I've ever taken at UMD.

She is one of the kindest and most understanding professors and she makes her lectures very interesting. The exams are straightforward and I truly did enjoy her class!

She is such a sweet person, very nice and approachable! Lectures can get a bit boring, but the class in general is fun and interesting. I learned a lot, and did not have any stress from this class. There is one group project which is easy, and exams are very easy as well as long as you study the images she tells you to. There is a lot of freedom on the exams in terms of the required answer. Overall, a very rewarding class and an excellent professor!
