| Dane Grossnickle INAG102 Expecting a B+ admin 12/17/2025 | Dane plays favorites and thinks that you have no other classes/priorities/life outside of his class. For example, he made our class present on a day where class was not scheduled and expected people to skip class for his class otherwise they would get a 0. This class was not hard, but Dane is a very harsh grader especially if you aren’t one of his favorites. Would not take a class with him again. |
| Dane Grossnickle INAG204 Expecting an A admin 05/18/2025 | Had Dane for INAG 102 and 204. I never used the textbooks for either of these classes and his lectures are quite helpful. If you're listening he will literally tell you what content is going to be on the exams and what information covered. My favorite professor in the IAA and INAG 204 was my favorite course I've taken at UMD. Do note that he's not a fan of laptops/phones out in class and that might reflect in your attendance/participation grade (easy A if you show up and take notes on paper). Not a bunch of work outside of class |
| Dane Grossnickle INAG203 Expecting a B+ admin 01/27/2025 | dane lowkey makes this class harder than it needs to be due to errors on his slides and worksheets. don't buy the textbook, i used it only during the first couple weeks of class and found it made me more confused than anything else. attendance is important, and exams and quizzes get cheatsheets. when you make your cheatsheets write small and basically copy down everything from the slides, all equations and any notable definitions. be thorough in your cheatsheets and double check your calculations and you'll be fine. |
| Dane Grossnickle INAG203 Expecting an A Anonymous 11/21/2024 | Dane does a great job of interacting with the class, making the learning experience feel engaging. He is also very available during office hours and always willing to help with any questions. However, a lot of his slides and worksheets often had errors, which led to people being confused in a class that was already confusing. Additionally, he is a strict grader, so you'll get points off for little things. The quizzes and exams aren't too difficult, especially since we get a cheat sheet. Buying the textbook (which is expensive) is "required" because he assigns readings, but I never used it. I bought the textbook, but I found it confusing and felt that just showing up to class was enough to keep me on track. |
| Dane Grossnickle INAG102 Expecting a B+ Anonymous 06/13/2024 | there isn't a crazy amount of work but you do a group project for more or less the entire semester, so choose your group mates wisely. this project weighs heavily on your grade and is easiest if you have competent group members. the textbook is largely irrelevant to the course, you do not need it to succeed. no curve, does do pop quizzes so attendance is important. Dane is great, would take a class with him again. really nice guy. not the easiest grader but the class is perfectly easy to pass as long as you show up to class and turn things in on time. |
| Dane Grossnickle INAG102 Expecting an A Anonymous 01/02/2024 | Mr.G is a nice person but a strict teacher/grader. A lot of our grades are based on group presentations. There aren't any major tests apart from the final exam, but he was kind enough to make a study guide, which was VERY helpful. |
| Dane Grossnickle INAG102 Expecting an A- admin 12/21/2023 | Overall, he is a nice person, and he cares about what he teaches. But he is also a strict grader. Thankfully, for any exams, he gives us a study guide and hints at what to learn. So if you come to class and pay attention, you will do great. |
| Dane Grossnickle INAG102 Expecting an A+ admin 12/01/2023 | Mr. G is a newer professor but does a good job at making class fun and engaging, and is generally a very approachable person. I enjoyed the course. My one complaint would be that his worksheets and such often will have typos, but he is new and still working out the kinks with teaching, so I'm sure he'll iron that out in future semesters. |
