| Jungjung Lee-Heitz CHIN101 Expecting an A admin 06/20/2025 | She is well-prepared for class and is really understanding of how students learn Chinese. She’s sweet, and her corrections are always very useful and extremely timely (often same-day). Starting 2025, I think the class will be 4 credits rather than 6 to make it easier for students to fit in their schedule. However, treat it as if it is still a 6 credits class and you will do very well. If you’ve taken Chinese before or grown up hearing it, the writing system will likely be the hardest part. If you’re basically new to it, try to repeat everything like a baby and be open to her corrections because over the course of the semester it will pay off! |
| Jungjung Lee-Heitz CHIN101 Expecting an A- admin 01/09/2023 | CHIN 101 is not kidding about being 6 credits! That being said, if you're prepared for very intensive workload, CHIN 101 is so rewarding, and Lee Laoshi is very kind and funny. She has high expectations but is also very understanding and will help you out if you come talk to her. Again, sometimes I thought the workload in this class was a little crazy (especially for a 100 level class!), but it is six credits, and I do feel like I've learned a ton of the language in just one semester! Recommend her and recommend the class. |
| Jungjung Lee-Heitz CHIN411 Expecting an A- admin 10/19/2022 | She prepares her classes very well, has interesting and engaging discussions, and expects a reasonable amount of effort from students. Quizzes are reasonable and preparing for them helps you understand the material a lot better. Would recommend taking her class! |
| Jungjung Lee-Heitz CHIN306 Expecting an A- Anonymous 04/30/2021 This review was submitted while most classes were online during the COVID-19 pandemic. It may not be indicative of a regular semester. | Her class is pretty intensive but she's a nice teacher and pushes you hard. |
