12/16/2024		Never went to class, still going to get an A because this guy is lax on everything. He's not a good lecturer and his slides are usually all over the place, but the material is easy enough to learn on your own. A lot of it can be done from CFA practice resources and the textbook. Homework is 25% of the grade and graded for completion, participation 5%, one midterm for 30%, final is 40%. He gives tons of partial credit on the exams and they are very similar to the practice questions and exam review. Exams are mostly math questions with 2-3 parts and some written conceptual problems, no multiple choice. You also get a note sheet for both exams. As long as you can figure out the practice questions, you'll be completely fine in this class.

12/05/2024		Absolutely terrible. He should not be teaching undergrad students. His lectures were all over the place and the content on slides are inconsistent. Exams are way too long and expectations were poorly set. Take 343 with anyone else.

Do the homework problems, they are the key to doing well on his exams. You don't have to worry about going to the review sessions because they are posted online in video format - but make sure to watch them because he goes through every step. Also, pay attention in class because he goes over really advanced techniques that make the simple math methods easy to comprehend. Really intelligent, great teacher! Also, start on the project early, and ask him for help.

Homework is not collected and he gives you the answers so you can figure out the problems on your own. One project at the end of the semester, one midterm and one final. Make sure to pay attention when he goes over the projects becasue it will help a lot. The exams aren't too bad becasue the questions are the same as the homework, so make sure you know how to do all of the problems, even if there is only one question in the homework on a particular concept. You also might have to write in explanations for your answers on the exam. 10% of the grade is participation, but only a few kids in my class participated much. Class isn't exciting and doing the homework is usually more helpful.
