| Karim Makkawy Expecting a B+ admin 01/19/2024 | The class itself is fairly manageable, it's just the teacher that is slightly difficult to manage. Professor Karim would FLY through the slide presentations without any regard for those trying to take notes and generally had an intrinsic mindset that everyone in the room already understood what he was talking about when it is actually an introductory course into International Studies. The assignments were few and far between but when they were assigned they were typically heavy. Some of the directions were somewhat unclear and yet again, not everyone is on the graduate level to have had some of the same writing experience as a graduate assistant. Perks of the class are a fun activity in D.C. and there not being a midterm and a group project being a final. Also, PAY ATTENTION in class because somehow amongst a group of over 75 students attendance is also taken? Overall, if you aren't the most interested in international studies, I'd recommend another scholars program. |
| Karim Makkawy CPSN250 Expecting an A admin 05/08/2023 | He would never tell you what he was expecting for the final paper, and his feedback consisted of nitpicking grammar and syntax. He would hardly give any actual constructive feedback that would make your paper better. |
| Karim Makkawy GVPT200 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 12/31/2021 | Professor Karim is still a grad student, but he was an excellent professor. He listened to feedback from his students, graded fairly, and didn't give out too much work. He was also generous with the extra credit. If he's teaching a GVPT course ever again, try and get Professor Karim. |
