It was not manually verified and may not follow our review standards. | This class was the absolute worst class I've ever taken at UMD. The lectures were very interesting and Professor Morris and his book are pretty interesting. But if you don't want to have 100 pages of reading a night (this is not an exaggeration) and take exams that are fair but graded entirely too hard, then do not take this class. The expectations of the teacher are really high and you will probably stress out all semester. There is also a long research paper that you will have to do. |
| Irwin Morris GVPT475 Expecting an A Anonymous 04/02/2008 This review was automatically imported from OurUMD. It was not manually verified and may not follow our review standards. | This class was both good and bad. Lectures were very intersting and enjoyable, and Dr. Morris is a good teacher. But he very high expectations on his tests. The tests were given in 50 minutes, and even the people who finish before everyone stayed until the end. There simple was not enough time to do all he wanted. His defintions section is the worst because you literally have to mention EVERYTHING that was ever mentioned about it to get full credit. He did give a small curve, but it was if a certain percentage of the class does better than the current average, then there will be a curve proportional to that percentage. |
