12/17/2025		Great professor! Very kind and an excellent teacher. Her class is relatively easy to do well in, especially the lecture portion in which there are plenty of extra credit opportunities if you get points taken of on homeworks. There are extra credit homework corrections as well as an extra credit worksheet you can choose between about three times during the semester. She is great especially for those who are less into theory breaking down topics into easy to digest chunks, but she's certainly knowledgeable about much more complex topics if you are interested in that and want to ask.

12/13/2025		She is honestly one of the best teachers I have ever had at UMD. She cares about her students and always makes an effort to provide accommodations along with extra credit opportunities. This is the most confident I have ever felt in my music theory skills.

12/20/2024		I love Dr. Nelson sm such an absolute goat. Easy grader, very chill class. Good lecturer, she goes over things many times to help solidify content. Attendance isn't required, but she'll make you do the worksheet and might grade it sort of harsh. 10/10
